Visual Communications Coordinator

Conservation Colorado is seeking a Visual Communications Coordinator based in Denver who will bring vision, smarts, energy, and passion to their work. The Visual Communications Coordinator will work on the Communications Team, bringing strategy and talent to the visual communications sphere in order to influence policy and advocate for environmental change.
The Visual Communications Coordinator is responsible for elevating Conservation Colorado’s brand and telling the story of its work through visual communications, including graphic design, video production, and website maintenance. The position ensures the integrity of the Conservation Colorado brand in all communications and leads the creation of all marketing and advertising.

Conservation Colorado works to protect Colorado’s environment and quality of life by mobilizing people and electing conservation‐minded policy makers. We work closely with policy leaders, citizen activists, businesses, and other conservation nonprofits, and we have built a reputation as one of the leading conservation advocacy organizations in the region. This year we will be tackling issues such as working to ensure our state has enough water for future generations, implementing policies to cut carbon pollution, and moving public lands and wilderness bills that will protect iconic places in Colorado.
Responsibilities
The Visual Communications Coordinator reports to the Communications Director and is responsible for the following:
· Designs visual communications to tell the Conservation Colorado story, including but not limited to: social media graphics, newsletters, annual reports, postcards, flyers, invitations, fact sheets, infographics, advertisements, and other creative digital content.
· Brings new ideas for design and content creation to the communications team, using expertise and an eye for great design.
· Ensures brand consistency across visual communications.
· Creates branding and style guides for staff so everyone understands the organizational brand.
· Ensures that all visual materials represent the broad range of people in Colorado and are screened for inclusivity and equity.
· Conceptualizes and creates videos (scripted and interview-style) that will thrive on social media.
· Photographs organizational events with an eye toward telling the story of our work.
· Maintains video and photo library.
· Oversees non-social media advertising, including but not limited to advertisements in newspapers, radio, TV, online banner, and other ads.
· Researches advertising pricing, leads media buying, and tracks advertising performance to determine the return on investment of the ad.
Qualifications
We’re seeking a creative designer and video producer who is results-focused and highly-driven with outstanding interpersonal communications skills and meticulous attention to detail. You should possess:
· A passion for Colorado’s land, air, water, and people and/or an interest in politics, policy, and elections.
· Demonstrated experience in graphic design, including Photoshop and Illustrator or similar programs.
· Demonstrated experience in video production.
· An understanding of advertising and marketing.
· A strategic approach to communicating with key target audiences to spur them to action.
· Excellent time management skills, including the ability to deliver products on tight deadlines and maintain grace under pressure.
· A problem solving orientation and an inclination to keep learning.
· A positive attitude and willingness to help with any task, large or small.
· Commitment to increasing racial diversity in our movement and organization, integrating justice and equity into the work we do, and ensuring an inclusive organizational culture.
Spanish/English bilingual is a skill we value, but it is not a requirement. The position requires a willingness to work evening and weekend hours as needed.

Compensation depends on experience and is highly competitive. It includes health/dental benefits, retirement with match, paid time off, and sabbatical program.
