Donor Development Strategies is continuing our fundraising efforts on behalf of Iowa Public Television in Des Moines and will be hiring two new directors to run this branch of our company alongside IPTV.


The director team will work with the Project Manager for that region to implement a strategic field plan with specific fundraising goals in mind, build a talented team of fundraisers, and manage all aspects of their office.


Directors will be responsible for maintaining positive client relations, managing and motivating their staff, developing and implementing recruitment strategies, designing staff trainings, developing other community or client initiatives, as well as setting and monitoring fundraising goals and office projections. Directors will conduct analysis of daily and weekly operations and draft routine reports. Directors lead their offices on all fronts, from broad projects to any and all administrative duties of the office. In depth and immersive training will be provided.

The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of success as a leader and staff manager. A typical office consists of 10 to 20 staff. This individual should be familiar with fundraising practices, have impeccable time management skills, and be comfortable juggling and prioritizing multiple tasks at a time. Further, this candidate should have a passion for communication and relish the opportunity to join an innovative, growing, and constantly evolving organization. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in fundraising, community outreach, and/or door-to-door canvassing.


Qualifications:
- Familiarity with door-to-door outreach - Familiarity with fundraising / community based fundraising a plus - Management (including supervisory) experience - Excellent communication skills - Strong organizational and time management skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment - Genuine enthusiasm for the PBS mission - Must be willing to work irregular hours and occasional weekends - Must have reliable transportation.

Our new Directors will work in coordination with our existing talented leadership teams in other markets to build the Iowa office from the ground up. Additionally, there are often opportunities to travel to different markets for training throughout the year.
