Communications Director

Top tier Mayoral campaign in a major east coast city seeks Communications Director for the 2020 Democratic Primary.  

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Oversee the management and development of communications strategy for the campaign across multiple platforms

• Build and manage press relationships

• Serve as the primary point of contact to the press

• Write press releases, media advisories, and talking points

• Manage social media accounts

• Work closely with media and mail teams and the Campaign Manager

• Review the scripts of the Field Department

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

• Self-starter who can pick up tasks and understand them in a quick and efficient manner.

• Well versed in building and managing communications strategies encompassing owned, earned, paid, and shared medias across traditional and digital platform

• Excellent writing skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or similar field

• At least 2 cycles of campaign experience, or applicable experience

• Expert knowledge in a second language a plus, but not required
