The Alabama Democratic Party is seeking a Director of Finance to create, lead, and direct all fundraising efforts for the party. The Finance Director will report to the Deputy Executive Director. The ideal candidate will maintain and build relationships with major donors and surrogates, both in-state and national. They will build, oversee, and convene the Finance Committee. The role will require maintaining a system of call time management for the Chair, party staff, and other principals. The Finance Director will also interface with digital fundraising consultants, advise, and train local candidates on effective best practices, and have a demonstrated commitment to advancing forward-thinking Democratic policies. 


Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the Finance Department, including strategic planning, project management, consultants, and goal-setting.
  •  Design and implement a comprehensive 2021 finance place, working in close partnership with the Deputy Executive Director and other consultants
  • Coordinate with the Operations & Compliance Director to ensure all campaign finance laws are strictly followed in all contributions and expenditures 
  • Oversee in-state and national including travel, donor targeting, and events 
  • Implement and enforce strict call time standards among party principals and staff
  •  Overhaul the ADP’s NGP data, ensuring that all donor data is up to date and accurate 
Qualifications & Skills 
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional, full-time work in campaign finance or non-profit fundraising
  • Strong understanding of campaign finance law
  • Expert knowledge of NGP 8
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with colleagues, donors, and principals across lines of identity difference
  • Willingness to work independently towards exceeding ambitious goals
  • Strong commitment to forward-thinking, progressive policies that move the party and our voters forward
While our team is working mostly remotely, this position will be based in Alabama as the COVID-19 pandemic permits. Compensation is $72,000-$84,000 per year and is commensurate with experience. Health and Dental benefits are provided at no cost to the employee. This is a full-time, exempt position that requires long and non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends.
