Deputy Voter Expansion Director

The Texas Democratic Party is hiring a Deputy Voter Expansion Director to work within the Texas Democratic Party’s dynamic Voter Expansion team.

Voter expansion, including both voter registration and vote-by-mail, is central to Texas Democrats’ path to victory in 2020. From ensuring that every voter who wants to register to vote is able to do so safely and easily to running major statewide voter expansion mail programs, the Voter Expansion team is at the forefront of expanding the Texas electorate for the 2020 cycle.

Core Responsibilities:

• Leading development and implementation of new voter expansion programs.
• Overseeing large-scale proactive voter registration and vote-by-mail efforts.
• Helping to design voter expansion programming that can be implemented by organizing, country parties, and campaigns.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for organizers, county parties, campaigns in inquiring about voter registration or mail ballot application requests.
• Tracking metrics and programmatic reporting related to our voter registration and vote by mail programming.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Voter Expansion Director.

Required Skills:

• Ability to think creatively, be solutions oriented and perform under pressure.
• An extremely high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong lateral management capabilities across organizational departments

Preferred Experience:

• At least one election cycle of managing a field program (candidate campaign, independent expenditure effort, or labor union)
• Experience overseeing large-scale mail programs.
• 1-2 years of project management experience.
• Advanced spreadsheet and/or VAN experience a plus.
• Passionate about expanding voting access in Texas.
