Last week, we announced our final two Virtual Career Fairs of the year will take place on September 7th & December 7th. Make sure you have your resume up to date and that you spread the word. Virtual Career Fairs are opportunities to connect with Progressive employers 1-on-1 from the comfort of your home. And for all our employers who are building their team for 2024, don’t delay and sign up today!

We’re still accepting feedback from our 2nd annual Powerful IDEA Awards program. If you have any thoughts or suggestions on how we can improve next year, please answer our Powerful IDEA Awards survey here.  All panels from our virtual expo are available for your viewing convenience on our YouTube channel.

It’s hard to believe that July is nearly over, but there is plenty of work to do on the horizon as we head into the 2024 election. Our Career Center will continue to be a place where you can find opportunities and like-minded individuals & organizations passionate about creating a better future for us all.  Check it out!

It’s definitely not a sleepy summer. Indictments, climate change, senseless violence, and a steady countdown to Election Day 2024 are a few of the reasons we do this work. We hope you’re fed up with the attacks on our democracy and eager to get involved to help ensure progressive victories in 2024.

We’re seeing a big uptick on our Career Center. It is filling up with organizations and job opportunities in Progressive politics that need people like YOU to continue making a difference.

We have two Virtual Career Fairs scheduled  September 7th & December 7th and are working on other programs to better link talent with progressive organizations. For all our employers who are building their teams for 2024, register today!

We’re sending prayers and condolences to the individuals in Maui, Hawaii, who are dealing with devastating & fatal wildfires. We also want to thank the first responders who are risking their lives to save others. If you would like to help those affected by the wildfires, consider donating to the Maui Mutual Aid Fund.

In better news, we’re thrilled to see such a powerful victory in Ohio this week - kudos to all involved. We’re looking forward to seeing Ohio voters protecting abortion access in the fall too. Our friend Tom Bonier at Target Smart has some good early analyses of the turnout there that are worth a quick read.

We’re super excited about the news from the DNC this week as well. Our first Powerful IDEA Award Living Legend recipient Minyon Moore will serve as the Chair of the 2024 Convention in Chicago. We love to see DNC Deputy ED Roger Lau’s portfolio expanded to include assisting there too. The whole leadership team is amazing.

We’re continuing to see a big uptick in our Career Center. It is filling up with job opportunities in Progressive politics that need people like YOU to continue making a difference.

We have two Virtual Career Fairs scheduled for September 7th & December 7th to link talent with progressive organizations. For all our employers who are building their teams for 2024, register today!

Finally, please note that we depend on membership and donations to finance our programs. If you are benefitting from our services, please consider membership or a donation. Thank you to all - we appreciate your support.

The word of the week is “Justice.” As news of new indictments flood the news, we’d like to appreciate the courageous Attorney Generals & District Attorneys across the country. They continue to prioritize our democracy and accountability.

The lead story on today’s Washington Post,  “American Democracy is Cracking”  caught our attention about the perilous the state of our democracy. It is a powerful description of the challenges we all face and an important reminder to keep focused and vigilant. We’re grateful that this GAIN Power community is committed daily to righting these problems we face.

In our Career Center, there are opportunities added daily that will allow you to jump into the fray heading into the 2024 election cycle. We also have two Virtual Career Fairs scheduled for September 7th & December 7th to link talent with progressive organizations. For all our employers who are building their teams for 2024, register today!

This weekend marks the 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington and many organizations are commemorating with gatherings in DC and around the country. Whether you participate in person or not, we encourage you to take time for some reflection. Many great stories are being shared about the event’s history. Others are challenging us with contemporary calls to action. Worth a read is this by Melanie Campbell and Rebekah Caruthers: These Black Women Were Behind The March On Washington. We Must Still Carry On Their Legacy

Another that spoke to me is this piece by Kelly Robinson, President of the Human Rights Campaign in Time magazine. What the March on Washington Can Teach Us About the Fight for Black Queer Freedom

This is so much better to focus on than the clown show / debate in Milwaukee this week or Trump & Company’s arraignments in GA. Except they serve as a continued reminder of why the work we all do is so important.

Our Career Center opportunities are already shifting to the 2024 election cycle. We also have two Virtual Career Fairs scheduled for September 7th & December 7th to link talent with progressive organizations. For all our employers who are building their teams for 2024, register today!
