Position: Development Intern Description: Development Intern End Citizens United/Let America Vote Mission: To fix our democracy by getting big money out of politics and protecting the right to vote. We will work to end our rigged political system by electing reform champions, passing meaningful legislative reforms, and elevating these issues in the national conversation. We will work in partnership with these champions to overturn the Citizens United decision, end the unlimited and undisclosed money in politics, and protect and expand the right to vote. Reports to: Development Coordinator Position Summary: The Development Intern will assist a small, collaborative fundraising team with responsibilities including donor outreach, research, FEC compliance regulations, and administrative support. Interns will have the opportunity to learn a variety of skills directly from campaign finance professionals, and will gain experience in grassroots fundraising, compliance regulations, and progressive campaigning. Interns have unique opportunities to interact directly with and receive professional guidance from all members of the organization, but particularly those on their individual teams. All interns also benefit from the ECU/LAV Intern Educational Program, which supports individuals who are new to the progressive political space by providing skill-building sessions on interviewing and resume and cover letter writing, group informational interviews with staffers in the progressive political space both inside and outside of ECU/LAV, and panels on post-graduate opportunities. Interns will also gain an extensive DC network through connecting with ECU/LAV staff members. We encourage anyone who is interested in progressive politics, getting money out of politics, and voting rights to apply and especially welcome anyone who is new to the progressive political space. This is a paid position of $16.50/hour with a start date in June and a flexible end date. Interns can work up to 35 hours/week. ECU provides a monthly transportation stipend to all interns.
