Communications Assistant - Rewire

Rewire is seeking an assistant to support the work of the Communications Department. This is a temporary, part-time position with an approximate duration of 1-2 months. This is an excellent opportunity for an avid news consumer with a passion for communications who is interested in learning more about working with the press. Preference given to applicants well-versed in the reproductive justice movement and familiar with the community.

The Communication Assistant will:

• Monitor news outlets and affinity organizations for mentions and use of Rewire content. Identify opportunities for media outreach and education.
  
• Compile weekly media reports including news clips, track media, and affinity group data for grant reporting.
  
• Identify members of the media covering topics relevant to Rewire’s work, maintain the media database, draft and maintain press lists.
  
• Draft press materials, including releases, pitches, etc.
  
• Provide administrative support as needed.
