Communications Director Opening

Democratic member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, is seeking an experienced, talented writer to serve as Communications Director. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing messaging and implementing communications strategies across both traditional and digital media; writing speeches and talking points; responding to press inquiries; drafting press releases; writing and placing op-ed; overseeing and expanding the Member’s social media presence; creating and distributing e-newsletters; planning press conferences; pitching reporters and bookers; and managing television and radio appearances.   

 

Candidates should demonstrate a strong political acumen, possess knowledge of the legislative process, excellent writing, verbal, and organizations skills, work well under pressure, have a positive attitude, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is not an entry level position.
