Position Description

Chesapeake Public Strategies is hiring paid canvassers to assist with community outreach on multiple projects.  Canvassers will talk with community members, articulating a message and sharing information about non-political issues. 

No fundraising required

Canvassers will distribute information door-to-door and at local community events. Canvassers must be able to articulate the message / issue and successfully engage in dialogue about  issue.  Canvassers will capture information using a combination of paper and electronic systems.

 

Canvassers will work approximately four hour shifts and earn $12 per hour. 

Responsibilities

• 
  
•    Effectively communicate the message / issue one-on-one to community members
  
•    Understand and articulate the broader concepts related to the message / issue
  
•    Completely and accurately record data manually and electronically
  

 

Qualities and Abilities Required

• Must have excellent communication skills
  
• Must be skilled and comfortable talking to and engaging community members 
  
• Must work well in a team and be flexible and adaptive to changing conditions
