JOB: Campaign Mngr - MD House of Delegates Race

Progressive candidate in primary race for the Maryland House of Delegates seeks a goal-oriented, energetic, and self-motivated person to manage day-to-day operations, oversee the voter contact plan and support scheduling, volunteer management and event planning. We are looking for a candidate with at least one campaign’s worth of field experience at the state or federal level who is looking to move into a leadership role and proficient with VAN software. The candidate is a former teacher with nearly a decade of experience in education policy.

Responsibilities:

• Implement the campaign plan with direct responsibility for the campaign’s field plan.
  
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to participate in grassroots voter contact activities.
  
• Recruit, train, and manage part-time high school and college interns.
  
• Manage volunteer and paid canvass programs – including cutting turf and maintaining VAN data.
  
• Help plan and coordinate house parties, fundraisers, and campaign events.
  
• Occasional staffing of the candidate at events and evening meetings.
  
• Helping to manage the finance operation of the campaign, in coordination with the candidate
  
• Develop and nurture relationships with key community leaders, neighborhood associations, opinion leaders, allied organizations and coalitions to build our base of support in the district.
  

Qualifications:

• Experience with at least one campaign and proficiency with VAN is a MUST.
• Goal oriented, self-motivated, and energetic.
  
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities, problem-solve independently, and take creative approaches to reaching goals.
  
• Strong communication and organization skills.
  
• Ability to effectively manage a team.
  
• Familiarity with Montgomery and Maryland politics a plus.
  
• Valid Driver’s License.
  
• Proficiency with social media, video editing, and google apps is a plus.
