The Virginia House Democratic Caucus seeks a highly skilled Policy Coordinator to work with the caucus from January 1 - April 31, 2018.

The Policy Coordinator is responsible for assisting leadership in the managing the overall policy and legislative strategy for the caucus. He/she will work closely with the Executive Director, Caucus Leader, Caucus Chair, and Caucus Policy Chair to implement caucus plans and strategies.

The Policy Coordinator should have the skills and ability to:

 

-Research and provide analysis on the Caucus targeted legislation before the House of Delegates

-Assist in tracking targeted legislation 

-Work with the Caucus Communications Director to develop a press strategy regarding legislative priorities and participate in Rapid Response
-Coordinate with policy counterparts in the Senate of Virginia and the Governor's office when necessary

This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Qualifications and Skills: 

• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a legislative position, 2 years preferred
