Organizing Manager, Chicago, IL Working America

The Organizing Manager is responsible for overseeing the organizing team, as well as participating in member development and organizing activities in their assigned geography.

Working with the Regional Director to ensure the quality and cohesiveness of Working America's member organizing program, the Organizing Manager will train and supervise a local team of organizers responsible for developing member activists and mobilizing workers on key issues. In addition to this supervisory role, the Organizing Manager will be responsible for his/her own daily participation in member development and organizing activities. 

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Experience as an organizer in a leadership capacity
• Management and/or supervisory experience
• An understanding of the national and local structure of the labor movement
• Creativity in new forms of organizing and building worker power

Reports to: Regional Director or State Director
