PCCC TRAINING DIRECTOR

In the 2012 and 2014 cycles, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) raised over $4 million directly for progressive candidates, made over 6 million phone calls for these candidates, provided intensive one-on-one coaching to dozens of campaigns, trained 600 campaign staffers and candidates, placed key staffers on the ground, and won major primary and general election victories.

In 2011, we also ran the campaign to draft Elizabeth Warren to run for U.S. Senate -- raising over $1.1 million for her campaign. Our plans are even bigger this cycle!

We are hiring a Training Director to lead the strategy and implementation of our training program. This position reports directly to one of the Co-Founders, and is a senior position. The job responsibilities of the Training Director include:

Develop a training calendar each year, taking into account larger organizational goals. Anticipate a mix of training for candidates, campaign staffers and activists, taking place at state Democratic Party conventions, conferences, and independently hosted by the Progressive Change Campaign Committee.

Raise the profile of the program. You’ll represent the training program in a number of public settings, and should expect to act as a fierce, passionate advocate for our pedagogy and our results.

Recruit trainees. We work hard to recruit training classes that are racially and economically diverse, as well as ideologically progressive. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that these classes meet high standards for diversity and ideology.

Work with candidates. You’ll recruit candidates at the federal, state and local levels for training, interact with them on logistics, and make sure the training meets their needs. You’ll survey them after the training, to make sure we keep improving our programs.

Work with allies. Work with organizational leaders and movement allies to build partnerships around each training, and identify ways to bring the training to their staff, members and endorsed candidates.

Manage political relationships. Navigate political relationships in a savvy way, understanding the pressures faced by many allies on the state and local level, and constructively engaging within that framework.

Manage training materials and trainers. You’ll work with the Electoral Team and other experts to develop new training materials and make sure current training materials are up-to-date. You’ll also schedule trainers and make sure they are briefed on their program roles.

Manage curriculum. You’ll make sure our curriculum constantly evolves and improves, meeting the needs of candidates, staffers and volunteers.

Fundraising. As a program director, you’ll participate in fundraising through call time and events, and work to secure financial sponsorship for our training program. You’ll also produce a yearly report to donors on the state of the training program.

About Us

Founded in January 2009, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) is a national grassroots organization with a mission of building progressive power. With 1 million members, we help elect bold progressive candidates and work with them to govern progressively. Elizabeth Warren said: "PCCC members were with me since the beginning -- even before there was a beginning! Now, we have lots of work to do together." The Nation magazine awarded PCCC “Most Valuable Campaign” for our Draft Elizabeth Warren campaign.

In 2014, many PCCC-endorsed "Warren wing" candidates won competitive Senate and House races, making the PCCC one of the few Democratic and progressive organizations with a big win record in 2014. We focus on economic populism and democracy issues -- including expanding Social Security benefits, Wall Street reform and accountability, and bold campaign finance reform.
