A Finance & Events Assistant is needed for a State Representative race in Eastern Massachusetts in the Mystic Valley.


Position Overview


The Finance Assistant is responsible for aiding in the raising and managing the funds that allow the campaign to be successful. The Assistant works alongside the Candidate and Campaign Manager to outline and meet the financial goals of the campaign. They keep the candidate on track with fundraising by scheduling, organizing, and staffing call time, and supporting the planning and management of fundraising events. Fundraisers must be highly organized and designed to ensure the campaign has the means to reach their campaign goals. They must be able to work alongside the communications team to create solicitations through email, events and call time. The Assistant helps maintain relationships with donors and acts in accordance with campaign finance laws to keep track of donations. They will also help staff the candidate at events, schedule meet and greets, and organize appearances. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creating a fundraising plan in coordination with the Campaign Manager and Candidate

  • Executing the daily tasks in support of fundraising, including scheduling call time, preparing records and phonebanks in Votebuilder/NGP, coordinating house parties/fundraisers and meet and greets and following up on giving pledges

  • Facilitating fundraising solicitations via email and social media

  • Identifying fundraiser hosts and facilitating the execution of events

  • Managing donation opportunities from endorsements

  • Scheduling and staffing candidate at all required events

  • Other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with Votebuilder, NGP or a similar CRM

  • Must have reliable computer, phone,  internet access, and transportation

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and diplomatically with people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to keep multiple projects on track at the same time

  • Preference for candidates with knowledge of the district
