Communications Director for City-wide and Borough-wide Races in New York City

Millennial Strategies is looking for exceptional candidates for our progressive clients running for City Council, City-wide, and Borough-wide races in New York City.

We are seeking talented and experienced individuals for a wide range of positions, and resumes submitted will be considered for a variety of openings.

The communications director will oversee all aspects of communications for the candidate.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Building relationships with the press corps, including local media
• Setting up interview opportunities for the candidate
• Writing press releases, statements, and op-eds
• Managing debate preparation
• Developing talking points and drafting campaign literature 
• Managing social media accounts, creating and overseeing social media strategy
• Coordinating press conferences

Required skills/experience:

• At least one cycle of campaign communications experience, or at least one year in a non-campaign public relations role

Preferred skills/experience:

• Extensive knowledge of New York City, and political experience here
• Spanish-speaker

Salary: $3,000 - $5,000 per month
