Description
Delegate Elizabeth Guzman is a first-term incumbent with a strong Republican challenger. She is the chair of the Freshman Caucus of 2017, the largest and most diverse class of state house Delegates ever elected in Virginia. She is the first Hispanic female immigrant elected to state office in Virginia, and the first AFSCME union member as well. In January of 2018, she gave the Democratic rebuttal to Donald Trump’s first State of the Union Address in Spanish.
The campaign is looking to bring a Field Organizer ASAP. The Field Organizer works with our Campaign Manager to organize our volunteer and grassroots outreach operation for the campaign, organizes door-to-door canvasses and phone banks, and helps interface with outside partners to bring volunteers and support to the district voter outreach operation.
Responsibilities
- Build a relationship with the campaign’s volunteers to ensure regular support for the campaign through canvasses and phone banks.
- Manage canvasses and phone banks with volunteers.
- Recruits, trains, and organizes volunteers and activist partners to hit campaign field goals.
- Assist hosts and stakeholders in planning house parties in the district, and legislative staff in organizing town halls.
- Hire, train, and manage Fellows to assist in field related activities.
Qualifications
- Willing to work long hours, including nights and weekends as necessary;
- Capable of managing for results through ambitious goal setting and objectives.
- Needs to be flexible with their duties and expectations
- Past field experience a plus, but not required.
- Possess a laptop and cell phone.
- Possess a vehicle with a willingness to relocate.
