MAJOR GIFTS OFFICER
Status: Exempt, Full-Time/Year-Round
Reports to: Director of Development
Supervises: Individual Giving Coordinator

Founded by UCLA students in 1982, Outfest is the leading organization that is showcasing, nurturing, and preserving lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender film images and artistry. Outfest builds community by connecting diverse populations to discover, discuss and celebrate stories of LGBT lives. Over the past three decades, Outfest has led the charge, spotlighting emerging talent, creating community between filmmakers and audiences and offering a world-class forum for stories that reflect and transform LGBT lives.

Job Summary: Outfest seeks and skilled and hands-on Major Gifts Officer responsible for coordinating and assisting in the growth of Outfest’s individual giving program with a concentration on Major Gifts. The Officer will work with the Director of Development, Executive Director and the Outfest Board of Directors to assist in raising $650,000 in 2016, with plans for significant increases annually.
Job Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
· Minimum of three (3) year of demonstrated success as a front-line fund-raiser, with an emphasis on individual major donors/gifts
· Minimum of three (3) years experience supervising and motivating staff and/or volunteers
· Successful experience identifying prospects and making cold calls
· A commitment to Outfest’s mission as well as an understanding of its four programs and their role in the broader LGBT Movement
· Mac proficient with a strong knowledge of Filmmaker Pro, PatronManager CRM (Salesforce) or similar database program, MS Office, Google Apps and social media marketing
· Effective time management and organizational skills
· Ability to work well independently and as part of a team and ability manage several projects simultaneously
· Ability to be both engaging and professional when making presentations at events and meetings
Proficient skill in Photoshop, Illustrator desired but not required
General qualifications:
· Ability to sit and work at a desk for several hours at a time.
· Valid CA Driver’s License and must have own vehicle
· Ability to travel and attend meetings, presentations and events outside the office
· Work occasional weekends and/or extended workdays.
