About the Voter Participation Center and the Center for Voter Information
The Voter Participation Center (VPC) is excited to announce an opening on our team for a Deputy Development Director. This position will serve as the heart of coordinating our substantial donor outreach to some of the largest donors in the country who are investing in some of the most competitive races of the cycle. This position provides an opportunity to engage with donors across the country who are involved in ensuring a representative democracy and therefor are active in the electoral process the civic engagement community.
The VPC and its sister organization, the Center for Voter Information are veteran civic engagement organizations with over 14 years of work in recognizing and harnessing the potential of the Rising American Electorate – unmarried women, people of color, and young people as an essential voting bloc. The VPC team specializes in voter registration and voter turnout among the new majority of eligible voters who are critical to building a progressive future. Our techniques are innovative and we are always learning – qualities we value among our team members as well.
The Voter Participation Center, a 501(c)(3) civic engagement organization, and the Center for Voter Information, a progressive 501(c)(4) nonprofit, work hand in hand to register, educate, engage, persuade and turnout both the RAE as well as the broader electorate.
Position Objective:
The Deputy Development Director will support strategic fundraising planning efforts, oversee day-to-day fundraising operations, cultivate and manage donor relationships, conduct prospect research, produce and provide written materials, research, etc. necessary to effectively meet fundraising objectives.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
· Drive the execution of a strategic fundraising plan, focused on individual and institutional major donors.
· Plan, schedule, and execute fundraising travel, including donor meetings and finance events
· Develop a comprehensive cycle finance plan that aims to exceed the previous cycles goals
· Provide and produce pertinent research and other materials in advance of donor meetings, to include giving histories
· Practices excellent stewardship of donor portfolio
· Regularly performs research to identify prospective supporters
· Oversees day-to-day activities of the development department
· Manages relationships with regional/outside consultants
· Facilitate cross-project and -departmental collaboration
· Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes, and implement organizational and structural change
· Prepare financial, administrative, and other required reports
· Oversee maintenance of the donor database (NGP VAN).

Work Environment
The Deputy Development Director works in a collaborative environment with senior management as well as external fundraising consultants. The duties of this position require an understanding of the program and how to present to a variety of donors.
