Summary
The Democratic Attorneys General Association is immediately seeking a Finance
Assistant to support Democratic Attorneys General and candidates for Attorney
General across the country, and support the organization’s growing 501(c)4. As
the Finance Assistant, you will complete administrative and operational tasks
for the Finance Team to achieve monthly and annual revenue. You will also work closely with the National
Finance Director to assist on finance operations.
The Finance Assistant is responsible for several key areas of revenue development, including:
1. Assist the finance director on finance operations
2. Donor Correspondence
3. Call-Time Assistance
4. Manage Donor Research on behalf of the deputy finance director/s
5. Events Management
6. Intern Management
7. Additional duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have advanced organizational skills and be familiar with political fundraising. Commitment to electing Democratic officials is a must.
***Periodic overnight travel may be required.
General Responsibilities
Finance Operations
The Finance Assistant will assist the Finance Team in day-to-day operational activities, including: managing the Team’s calendar, manage necessary follow-up and action items, coordinating travel, and scheduling donor meetings. Additionally, the Finance Assistant will work with the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director to determine the most optimal time for fundraising meetings and call-time.
Donor Correspondence
The Finance Assistant will facilitate high-level communications internally and externally in accordance with donor and leadership requests. The Finance Assistant will assist in scheduling donor-facing activities and work with the team to ensure effective post meeting/event follow-up to support the cultivation of ongoing relationships.
Donor Research
The Finance Assistant will conduct research to build prospect lists. Under the direction of the Finance Team leadership, research and report on donors and donor prospects including individuals, corporations and foundations. The Finance Assistant will conduct donor research before donor visits and special fundraising events.
Events Management
The Finance Assistant will assist the Events Managers to support event logistics as well as track event attendance in NGP database for prospect tracking and donor stewardship.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience as an administrative professional in a campaign, fundraising, or nonprofit organization.
- This is a fast-paced and fast changing work environment: ability to organize and handle multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines is required.
- Experience with managing call time processes a plus
- Able to interact with individuals at many levels and to handle confidential matters
- Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong research skills, database (NGP fundraising database) and computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Bachelor’s degree required.
