Hi everyone,
My name is Meghana Reddy and I am a founding member of Time of Day Media - we are a worker owned coop that does digital strategy & media production for a wide range of progressive clients. We are looking for a Digital Strategist/Digital Campaign Manager to join our team - to start off as a part time but with potential for full time hours & full membership into the coop, including health & pension benefits etc. We are a union shop - proud members of the Writers Guild of America, East - and a Certified Minority & Women Owned Business with the City of New York. DIGITAL ORGANIZER / DIGITAL CAMPAIGNER

Time of Day Media is a worker-owned digital strategy & media production firm based in New York City and Oakland, CA. We collaborate exclusively with social justice organizations, providing communications and digital organizing support on a range of campaigns.


We are looking for an experienced digital organizer / digital campaign manager for a part time position with future potential for permanent membership into our cooperative with full health and pension benefits as a member of the Writers Guild of America. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of digital organizing / digital campaigning experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing digital organizing strategy, ability to connect online/offline organizing into effective social change movements

  • Deep understanding of how to use organic content & paid promotions on Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat etc to grow engagement

  • Familiarity with text based organizing technologies such as Hustle/Slack

  • Strong understanding of performance analytics

  • Content curation for specific audiences in sectors such as home care, nursing, service industries and for women of color, immigrant workers with non-English primary language, etc.

  • Creating and managing social media paid promotions

  • Writing copy for social media posts, graphics, websites and more

  • Creating compelling original content on issues such as workers rights, equal pay, paid family leave, affordable health care, immigration, unions for all, and more

Flexible schedule for an estimated 20-25 hours of work per week with future potential for permanent membership into our cooperative with full health and pension benefits as a member of the Writers Guild of America

Contract position with hourly rate of $40-$70/hr depending on experience.

You are the ideal applicant if you:

  • Care deeply about social justice and wants to help our clients WIN organizing campaigns on the ground

  • Have a strong understanding of grassroots organizing and digital organizing, and how the two work together

  • Know how to effectively target and run paid promotions on social media platforms

  • Are skilled in story based communications  

  • Self directed and able to work remotely/independently

  • Detail oriented & organized

  • Great at coming up with funny / poignant / inspiring / engaging content on social media in a range of formats including memes, listicles, graphics, video, etc.

  • Comfortable in Canva / Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign
