Director
Job Description:
This is a full-time salaried position with benefits located
in Raleigh, NC. The Finance Director will be responsible for managing all
aspects of the North Carolina Senate Democratic Caucus‘s (NCSDC) fundraising
program. The Finance Director reports to the Executive Director and works
directly with staff, individual members, Senate Leadership, candidates, allied
organizations and more. The Finance Director is responsible for working with
the Executive Director to create and execute a plan that will fully fund NCSDC’s
effort in the 2016 Cycle.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a multi-faceted short-and
long-term finance plan with programs aimed at multiple categories of donors
(including PACs, high–and low-dollar individuals, other institutional givers,
and online contributors) with program’s targeted at specific constituencies of
donors.
- Work with NCSDC’s Finance Committee to execute
and update plan
- Plan, schedule, and manage small-and large-scale
fundraising events ranging from small social gatherings to large events with
100+ attendees.
- Manage member call time for the NCSDC, conduct
all follow-up donor correspondence and pledges, and oversee thank you program.
- Build on existing donor database by identifying,
researching, and recruiting new donors.
- Assist members in building strong relationships
with major donors for the NCSDC.
- Track progress of program, and produce regular
reports for Executive Director and Senate Leadership
- Work with NCDP’s compliance staff to ensure
accuracy on state finance reports.
- Recruit and supervise interns to assist with
data entry, donor research, and other finance-related tasks.
- Improve and maintain accurate records in finance
database.
- Write or oversee drafting of direct mail and
online/email solicitations.
- Assist incumbent members and challenger
candidates with developing and executing their own successful fundraising plans
until additional staff is hired.
- Track targeted campaigns progress on finance.
- Supervise Finance Staff in donor
research, event planning, and other support activities.
- Staff all NCSDC leadership and other members at
finance-related events.
- Work
extended hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to electing Democrats to
state government.
- At least 2 cycles of political fundraising
experience
- Exemplary time management, planning, and
organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize and
manage multiple projects and staff
- Experience with NGP
- Must have a car (position will at times require
travel around the state).
- Experience in and knowledge of the
political landscape and key people/organizations in North Carolina
preferred.
