Linda Sperling for Springfield District Supervisor—Fairfax County, VA—is seeking an experienced, aggressive and highly motivated campaign manager for the Nov 5, 2019 elections.
Linda is a mom, businesswoman, former college professor and community leader (and first-time candidate) who is running to represent the Springfield District on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. She is a very strong candidate, referred to by the Washington Post as a “strong Democratic challenger” to her opponent, an entrenched three-term incumbent.
Fairfax County, which is located in Northern Virginia (just outside of Washington D.C.), is home to 1.2 million residents and over 100,000 businesses (including nine Fortune 500 companies). Fairfax County is governed by a ten-member Board of Supervisors, who represent each of the county’s nine magisterial districts (and one at-large Chair).
The Springfield District is quite large—it is home to 89,000 registered voters and stretches across a vast stretch of land in the Western/Southwestern portion of the county. Historically, the Springfield District has been “reliably red” however demographic shifts have seen the district voting for Democrats in local elections for nearly ten years. Winning this election will mean flipping the Springfield District Supervisor’s seat from R to D for the first time since 1972 and removing one of only two remaining Republican Supervisors on the Board. This will require a lot of voter outreach, which means that this will also require a lot of money, but will be quite the feather in the cap of the campaign manager responsible for this incredible accomplishment… which is where you come in.
We are seeking an experienced Campaign Manager to serve as the brains and logistical overlord for the campaign. The campaign manager will craft the campaign plan and then be responsible for implementing it: the field, finance, marketing and communications, community outreach, managing staff and volunteers, managing the candidate, and generally making sure that the trains run on time.
