SEIU Healthcare Wisconsin has a great opportunity to internally organize healthcare workers around the state as an Organizer for Growth. Wisconsin has a newly elected governor which presents an opportunity for change and moving Wisconsin forward.  This position can be based in Madison or Milwaukee.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop, implement and evaluate a member-centered campaign for healthcare workers.
2.
Educate workers and others on how power relationships work and how workers can / should use that knowledge.
3. Communicate with workers including listening, framing issues and motivating them to participate actively.
4. Develop written materials including newsletters, training materials, press releases, opinion editorials, lobbying materials, etc.

5. Organize and participate in political action and lobbying activities.

6. Represent the Union in community and labor coalition activities.

7. Visit work sites covering all shifts.
8. Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and an automobile for business use.
9. Ability and willingness to travel on a frequent and extensive basis is required.

3.       Ability to work long and irregular hours as necessary.

4.       Strong verbal and written communication skills.

5.       Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Salary and benefits are set by the staff collective bargaining agreement with starting salary of $40,000/annual and benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, pension plan, paid time off, and paid holidays.
