Communications Director at Stand.earth (Remote anywhere in U.S.)

Stand.earth is hiring a Communications Director to lead our communications department (alongside two full-time communications managers), work with senior leadership to manage strategic communications and raise our organization’s profile, and provide support to a few collaborative campaign teams. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a newly created position at Stand.earth and help craft the role communications will play in supporting our organization’s brand and campaigns.
Ideally this role will be based in the U.S. To start, the role will be remote, but there is a future opportunity to work out of one of our hub offices on the West Coast. Salary is based on experience and likely within $85,000-$110,000 USD. Stand.earth has a history of pushing major corporations to take action on climate change. Since 1999, we’ve secured the protection of 65 million acres of wilderness in the U.S. and Canada and changed the environmental practices of more than 100 major U.S. corporations. Some of our current campaigns are focused on getting the shipping and fashion industries to stop using dirty fuels to power their vessels and factories, protecting global forests from deforestation and oil extraction including the Amazon rainforest and Canada’s boreal forest, and working with local elected officials to use their regulatory power to protect communities from the fossil fuel industry.
