JOB: Regional Field Director, NextGen Climate, Ames, Iowa

SUMMARY:
NextGen Climate is currently seeking detail oriented and highly motivated organizers to join our team in Iowa as Regional Field Directors through the 2016 Caucuses. RFDs will be responsible for managing geographical turf, local political relationships, staff and volunteer recruitment efforts. Ideal candidates will have previous field experience managing staff, working on college campuses and building local political relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing a volunteer base in a given geographic area
- Develop strong campus program to engage students in issue organizing campaign
- Finding and maintaining relationships with political contacts
- Responsible for organizer training, development and management
- Responsible for voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and event management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- At least 1 cycle of campaign field experience
- Experience working with VAN
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to adapt rapidly to evolving priorities and deadlines
- Driven with a strong work ethic
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours
- Previous climate, energy or environmental issue organizing experience a plus
- Previous work experience in youth and student organizing a plus
