Field Director for DCCC-targeted incumbent NJ Congressional Campaign

Highly competitive, DCCC-targeted incumbent Congressional campaign defending one of the closest seats in the country seeks an experienced Field Director to manage an extensive program for the 2020 primary and general elections.

This will be one of the toughest and most expensive races in the country, and we need a field program to match!

Responsibilities include:

- Write and execute a comprehensive field plan, including Vote By Mail and GOTV plans, in consultation with the Campaign Manager

- Propose and manage field budget in consultation with the Campaign Manager

- Run a data-driven program; develop key metrics and report regularly on progress and goals

- Develop a strong volunteer recruitment program; instill a bottom-up, grassroots-powered culture and mindset across the entire field operation

- Develop and run a large paid canvass program in addition to the volunteer operation; oversee hiring and training of new paid canvassers

- Hire and manage a team of field staff

- Build relationships with local elected and Democratic party officials, activists, and key volunteers

Qualifications include:

- Minimum two cycles of experience on a Congressional campaign or larger (or multiple cycles on smaller campaigns) in a field position required; management experience a strong plus

- Strong competency with VAN required

- Willingness to relocate to New Jersey and access to reliable transportation required

- Experience working in New Jersey politics a plus

- Experience running field programs in rural/suburban areas a plus

- Experience with paid canvass programs a plus
