Field Director
Khari Edwards for Brooklyn Borough President is seeking an experienced Field Director. The Field Director will be responsible for running a data-driven voter mobilization program through the implementation of a district-wide voter contact effort. Looking for ideal candidate who is detailed oriented and has demonstrated success in organizing and outreach. This position reports to the Campaign Manager.
About Khari
Khari was born and raised on Carroll Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. He is the son of immigrant parents from Guyana and Trinidad who were both city workers. Khari is a product of NYC public schools and is a public school parent to three children.
For nearly two decades, Khari’s career has been dedicated to community development and political action throughout the City and State of New York.
Khari is the fighter and advocate that Brooklyn needs. As Brooklyn Borough President he will fight for more affordable housing. Khari will prioritize making Brooklyn the healthiest borough in New York City. He believes in the power of our small businesses. He will fight to ensure all young people in the borough have opportunities they need to reach their goals.
Responsibilities
Execute the field plan
Oversee all aspects of direct voter contact: canvassing or lit drops, phone banking, text banking for persuasion, and turnout efforts, with special attention to digital outreach
Run voter ID, petitioning, and GOTV programs
Manage and mentor a team of field organizers
Produce regular field data reports for Campaign Manager and
Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers, community leaders, and cross endorsed campaigns
About You
You have advanced proficiency in VAN
You have worked with ThruText
You have at least one cycle as a regional field director or field director
You have a positive attitude and like to laugh
You are a team player
Bonus if you speak Spanish, Haitian Creole, Russian or Chinese
Salary: $5000 - $6000, depending on experience
