Copywriter at Veracity Media - Progressive Digital Strategy Firm

Veracity Media is a progressive digital strategy and political consulting firm based in Washington D.C. We need a detail-oriented, creative, experienced, full-time copywriter, to help elect Democratic candidates and forward progressive causes.

If you are passionate about politics and advocacy, have a solid digital skill-set, are a strong team player, and believe you have what it takes to craft content for several of our amazing clients with a focus on raising money and engaging the supporters they need to win, then this is the position for you.

Job Responsibilities

• Daily drafting of fundraising and non-fundraising blast email content

• Occasional drafting of ad copy and content for Facebook ads and more

• Writing and presenting different options and variations to client leads and senior staff

• Modifying copy until the client and leads are satisfied 

• Overseeing the production phase as needed

 

Required Qualifications

• Meticulous attention to detail

• Strong writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills, on short deadlines

• Ability to manage several projects at once, from assignment to delivery, in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to think creatively under pressure

• Ability to understand clients’ messages and translate them into compelling content

• Ability to identify compelling imagery for clients' messages

• Competence conducting research to assist in crafting accurate copy

• Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment

• Strong familiarity with the American electoral system and current political and domestic issues

 

Useful Technical Skills:

• Online advertising: Facebook, Google Adwords, Twitter, DSPs, etc.

• Design: Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/Canva/etc.

• Coding: HTML and CSS; Javascript and/or jQuery are a plus

• Digital Tools: NGP, BSD, ActBlue, ActionKit, NationBuilder, Salsa, etc.

• Database management: VAN, Excel, SQL, etc.

 

Logistics:

• This is a D.C.-based position. Remote applicants will not be considered. Interviews may take place over the phone or in person.

• Applicants may be asked to submit work samples beyond what is initially provided.
