Field Organizer for Competitive Virginia State Senate Campaign

Progressive Democratic campaign for a competitive Virginia Senate race is seeking field organizer applications for multiple openings. Field Organizers will build grassroots volunteer teams on their turf to turn out voters for the June 11th primary and, if successful, the November 5th general election.

                       

Responsibilities​ ​include:

• Recruiting, managing and training volunteers to participate in direct voter contact activities (primarily canvassing)

• Conducting​ ​one-on-one​ ​and ​group​ ​meetings​ ​with​ ​volunteers

• Organizing​ and staffing candidate at local events on turf

• Meeting weekly goals for calls, 1:1 meetings, volunteer recruitment, and knocked doors

• Organizing weekly canvasses in turf as well as a strong GOTV for the June 11 primary

Desired Qualifications:

• At least one cycle of organizing experience is strongly preferred

• Passionate and willing to engage diverse communities

• Ability​ ​to​ ​achieve​ ​goals​ ​and​ ​perform​ ​under​ ​pressure

• Willingness​ ​to​ ​work​ ​long​ ​hours,​ ​including​ ​nights​ ​and​ ​weekends

• Car and valid driver’s license necessary

Salary​ ​is​ ​commensurate​ ​with​ ​experience.

Organizers will be expected to start on a relatively quick turn around.
