Position: Finance Assistant Director

Classification: Salary Exempt

The Assistant Director will be able to be in a highly visible position, with hands on the financial statements, budget, taxes and reports for officers, headquarters and outside entities. This position does not require supervision of other staff and works very independently within a very efficient team. We are looking for a candidate that can:

• Provides strategic financial leadership with oversight and protection of the assets and financial integrity of the organization
• Create and update budgets and forecasts
• Prepare, analyze and submit timely monthly financial statements and monthly budget variances
• Prepare and present financial information to the Board Financial Team, Vice President and Chief of Staff
• Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards Interface with auditors in  preparing year end documentation requirements
• Oversee and work with our CPA in all tax regulatory and compliance issues on annual tax returns
• Additional related duties as needed

Ideal Candidate should have:

• A minimum of  five years of experience in financial areas
• An experience in a nonprofit is a plus but not required 
• A minimum of three years of experience with similar responsibilities, in progressive organizations
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related fields. CPA or MBA is great but not required
• Excellent verbal and written skills, strong quantitative analysis with proficiency in communicating financial issues to non-accountant

• Familiarity with electronic accounting systems in a large nonprofit entities or medium size for profits companies
• Be smart, assertive, confidential with strong work ethics and with a high degree of accuracy and a keen eye for detail and follow-through
