The Union of Concerned
Scientists (UCS) is an national nonprofit that uses science to protect our
health, safety, and environment. UCS advocates for science-based solutions to a
range of complex problems; our Science Network consists of thousands of scientists,
engineers, and other experts nationwide who want to put science to work in
tackling those problems. The Science Network Organizer will serve as the lead on cultivating
our Science Network members, especially scientists in the early stages of their
careers. You’ll design and implement leadership development projects for early
career scientists, including a small grants fund to boost local advocacy
efforts. You’ll also help the Science Network team build an inclusive community
and diverse network of members and partners who care about advocating for
equitable science-based policies. You’ll have the ability to work
independently, balance a multitude of tasks, and you’ll get to collaborate as a
member of a passionate and multidisciplinary team. This is a two-year position
based in the UCS office in Cambridge, MA or Washington, DC.
