Overview

Abigail Spanberger, a DCCC Red-to-Blue and EMILY’s List candidate in Virginia’s highly competitive 7th Congressional District, seeks a full-time Field Organizer. You’ll be part of a dynamic team with tremendous grassroots support (more than 1,800 registered volunteers) and a candidate who’s been named one of Time Magazine’s 10 races to watch.

 

Reports to: Field Director

 

Responsibilities

·      Volunteer Management

o   Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to implement the field plan

o   Identify and empower volunteers for leadership roles in the field program

o   Recruit, train, and manage interns to achieve field program strategic goals

·      Community Engagement

o   Develop and maintain relationships with local Democratic organizations, including county committees, university groups, and Young Democrat chapters

o   Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders and allied community organizations

·      Field Operations / Voter Engagement

o   Schedule, staff, and implement regular phone banks

o   Schedule, staff, and implement regular field canvasses

o   Data entry and reporting

o   Plan, staff, and execute campaign events

o   Assume responsibility for meeting established volunteer recruitment and voter contact goals

o   Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

·      Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·      Ability to work long hours, including nights and weekends

·      Ability to multi-task, meet competing deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment

·      Experience with Votebuilder and MiniVAN

·      A valid driver’s license and a reliable motor vehicle

·      Previous campaign experience is preferred, but not required
