BrownMillerGroup is hiring a Deputy Canvass Director to build and manage paid petitioning programs for a statewide New York race. A successful candidate will be a dynamic individual possessing a breadth of organizing experience and demonstrating a range of professional skills. They will be passionate about building people-powered, community driven campaigns.Responsibilities Will Include
Recruiting, hiring, training and managing paid canvassers and support staff
Managing and tracking all facets of personnel relationships including development,
performance assessment, payroll and databasing
Tracking and reporting progress to goal in real time
Delivering program assessments and recommending strategic or tactical adjustments in real
time
Required Skills and Qualities
At least one campaign cycle of experience as organizing or managing
The ability to develop team members and create a team environment
Experience with Van, Nationbuilder, or similar voter database systems.
Mastery office programs including the Microsoft office suite, Excel in particular, and file share
programs
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent time management and task organizing skills
The ability to solve problems
The ability to self-assess
The ability to lead and to develop staff
Ability to travel independently
Ability to work extended hours
Ability to travel for extended periods of time
Ability to relocate if necessary
Self-motivation and the commitment to see a task through regardless
A passion for politics
