I'm running for State House here in Houston, TX. It's a suburban, traditionally Republican (60/40) district. I'm the Democratic nominee and am now looking for a campaign manager to help take the campaign to the next stage. It's going to be a positive campaign about how Millennials / outsiders have new ideas (outside the traditional left/right framework) that need to be taken seriously. Additional details below.

Campaign Manager


ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Campaign Manager (CM) is responsible for operationalizing the campaign. From start date through election day, the campaign manager will need to:


  • Hire a campaign field director to build and organize a field team capable of targeting, at minimum 15,000 hard to reach Democratic voters

  • Work with outside vendors to build and maintain a robust online and social media presence

  • Reach out to key stakeholders in the district and build relationships that support the field team and candidate

  • Meet with traditional media and work to generate earned media for the campaign

  • Work closely with other campaigns operating in the area

  • Help manage candidate call time and donor relations to raise the necessary money to fund the campaign

  • Manage the campaign budget, including staff, vendors, literature, digital infrastructure, and advertising


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The CM should be an experienced organizer with excellent managerial skills and a strong understanding of the political landscape. Specifically, s/he should have:


  • At least four years of management experience, preferably with at least one cycle of campaign experience

  • An understanding of the necessary balance between the politics of conservative leaning, suburban areas and those of traditionally marginalized communities. Texas connection preferred, but not required

  • Proven track record in managing teams, staying within budget and coordinating multiple strategic efforts

  • Experience in coordinating media purchase, production, and relations

  • Demonstrated fundraising skills and knowledge of campaign funding sources

  • Be committed to trying new, unorthodox strategies

  • Demonstrated ability to work and engage with diverse communities, serve as a team leader, and maintain a sense of humor
