CAMPAIGN POLICY FELLOWS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY FOR JULIE OLIVER FOR CONGRESS (TX-25)

Julie is a mom, lawyer, accountant, and healthcare advocate running as the Democratic nominee for U.S. Congress in District 25, which stretches about 8,000 square miles from San Marcos up to Ft. Worth, Texas. You can read more about her story here: www.oliver2018.com

Julie has distinguished herself in a couple of ways this cycle. First, she is the only female candidate to have made it out of the primaries in Austin's Travis county, which through gerrymandering has been subdivided into five districts. Second, she is the only Congressional candidate in the entire state, besides Beto O'Rourke (El Paso Congressman running to unseat Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate) who is not taking ANY PAC money-- not just corporate PAC money. Despite this, Julie managed to out-raise her opponent, who has millions of dollars in his war chest from the NRA and other special interest groups, in the last fundraising period

That being said, we have to rely heavily on volunteers to win this race. We could greatly use the help of individuals who have studied public policy, the law, or have an excellent capacity for research and an interest in social issues. The fellowship includes:

- developing policy position papers for our website and email distribution
- developing talking points on key issues
- developing or revamping our existing donor prospectus

Specifically, we need papers and talking points on:

- LGBTQIA issues
- transportation and infrastructure
- campaign finance reform
- immigration
- disability rights
- rural economic revitalization
- education
- racial justice
- economic and tax issues
