A Connecticut Mayoral candidate seeks a Campaign Manager for a competitive Primary and General election campaign

A Progressive candidate for Mayor of a Major Connecticut City (Population 60,000+) seeks an experienced campaign manager. The candidate, a former elected official and community leader, is a proven fundraiser and campaigner.

The ideal candidate will have competence in multiple campaign disciplines (Field, Fundraising, and Communications). Competitive candidates for this position will have campaign management experience or experience at the senior/director level of a major federal or statewide race.

Key Skills & Experience

1. Technology competency: Extensive experience and comfort using Microsoft Office, Google Drive, VAN, NGP.

2. Project Management: Experience identifying the key objectives that must be met in order for the campaign to meet its short and long term goals, then working with a team of staff, volunteers, and/or  consultants to meet those goals.

3. Strong writing skills: Have the ability to streamline the creation of campaign materials by producing first draft content for the candidate and edit final draft content to ensure it fits the campaign’s message.

Job Responsibilities

1. Work with the candidate, consulting team, and kitchen cabinet to develop a winning campaign message and overall strategy;

2. Oversee the development and implementation of a successful fundraising program that includes events, digital, and calltime;

3. Ensure the campaign hits key benchmarks in terms of field engagement and political outreach;

4. Manage the candidate’s schedule, staff the candidate at events, and ensure the candidate’s time is being used effectively and efficiently;

5. Develop relationships with the press and ensure the campaign takes advantage of earned media opportunities;

6. Manage the campaigns social and digital media accounts;

7. Ensure the campaign complies with all campaign finance regulations.

Hiring Timeline: Rolling interviews in hopes of on-boarding the right candidate ASAP.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience (Range: $3,750 - $5,000/ mo)
