Regional Field Organizer – Utah Democratic Party
Start Date: March 7, 2016
The Utah Democratic Party is seeking Regional Field Organizers to implement its field program in targeted areas throughout the state. Regional Field Organizers will be responsible for
working closely with assigned legislative campaigns, leading the volunteer management and field operations, as well as assisting in GOTV activities.
Utah was once 5th in the nation in voter participation. In 2014, Utah saw the lowest voter turnout in 72 years. The 2016 election brings many opportunities, including the possibility to
retake a congressional seat and several state legislative seats. We have built an aggressive program and recruited top-tier candidates to run across the state. Come help turn Utah blue!
Responsibilities:
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to implement the Utah State Democratic
Party Field Plan
• Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders and volunteers
• Work closely with select candidates to implement effective campaigns
• Foster and develop volunteer networks in assigned geographic regions
• Empower volunteers to develop into leadership roles within the program
• Lead voter registration and field efforts in assigned districts
Qualifications:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to meet tight and competing
deadlines, and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously
• Working knowledge of political campaign structure and familiarity with campaign
technology
• Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends
• Enthusiasm and strong commitment to goals and values of the Utah Democratic Party
are a must
• Good sense of humor and ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment
• Previous campaign experience is preferred, but not required
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
