A progressive champion running for state senate in one of Connecticut’s most flippable districts seeks a campaign manager. With the Connecticut Senate tied 18-18, this seat is crucial in securing a Democratic majority and protecting progress for Connecticut’s working families.

We are seeking a campaign manager to oversee all day-to-day operations of the campaign, and help develop strategy with our local team. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and staff.

  • Build a broad, effective grassroots campaign including, but not limited to, coalition building, extensive volunteer management, and voter contact

  • Oversee the development of all paid media production, distribution and broadcast (online ads and direct mail).

  • Manage aggressive free media campaign, including social media posts, letters to the editor, and editorials/op-eds

  • Draft or manage drafting of public content, press releases, outreach emails, and other written materials.

  • Manage fiduciary oversight, legal administration and adherence to campaign finance reporting requirements. This work will be performed in close collaboration with the treasurer and deputy treasurer

  • Manage the candidate’s time and priorities. This includes staffing the candidate at events during the day, at night, and on the weekends

Desire qualifications/Requirements:

  • Excellent work ethic, and a passion for winning. Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines and on many nights and weekends.

  • A proven track record in coalition building, grassroots or field campaign organizing.

  • Team player - ability to manage conflict with savvy and maturity, including experience working with volunteers

  • Strong writing skills.

  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail. This position will require self-discipline

  • Ability to work with diverse communities, serve as a team leader, and maintain a sense of humor.

  • Drivers license and a car.

To apply: please email your resume, a short writing sample (less than 2 pages and does not need to be campaign-related), and two references to Lindsay at lfar...@workingfamilies.org. No calls please. This position will be open until filled and applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Women and people of color are particularly encouraged to apply.
