TITLE: Scheduler & Community Liaison for Manhattan State Assemblymember

Responsibilities:

 

Manage a very busy schedule with responsibility for accepting and acting on all invitations, seeking out potential events, planning the Assemblymember's schedule, directing traffic quickly and efficiently, and to ensure that the Assemblymember is briefed for each event working with other team members.

 

Additionally, manage constituent inquiries and casework; represent the Assemblymember at community meetings; organize community events; serve as liaison with government agencies, and advocates, community boards, tenant associations, and other local organizations; assist with press events and communications materials and strategy; monitor local press and neighborhood activities; articulate our legislative and policy goals and accomplishments; and closely follow local, citywide, and statewide issues as they affect our community. Address a wide range of service needs and policy areas, with a particular focus on tenant issues, waterfront access and resiliency, and government assistance.

Qualifications:

Required: Excellent judgment and discretion; commitment to public service; willingness to work long hours; strong interpersonal skills including ability to be assertive, meticulous with details, and pleasant on the phone; ability to work in a highly collaborative environment; creative and strategic thinking; strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills. 

 

Preferred: Comparable experience in a government office, or similar setting providing direct customer service.


Salary:
Salary will be in the $30Ks with excellent benefits.
