Central Texas Congressional Campaign Seeks Field Director
About the race:
A first time candidate is running in a central Texas district that represents one of the nations top pick-up opportunities for Democrats. The candidate is a dynamic orator and lifelong organizer with the chance to build a movement.
About the role:
The field director will be responsible for launching what will become a grassroots movement with hundreds and eventually thousands of people getting directly involved with the campaign. The field director will design and implement a field plan that capitalizes on the unique strengths of the candidate: an inspiring public speaker who can move people to action when given the opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement a field plan with an emphasis on opportunities for the candidate to directly interact with voters through town halls, house parties, etc.
Recruit and manage volunteers to take direct action.
Train and empower volunteers to become volunteer leaders.
Recruit, train, and manage a staff of organizers who will assist you in executing the field plan.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous organizing experience is a must. Two or more cycles of candidate or electoral issue organizing is prefered.
Recent experience with VAN/Votebuilder is required.
Strong computer skills are required, as are written and verbal communication skills.
Experience organizing in diverse communities is preferred.
Experience managing staff is preferred.
This is a full time salaried position with competitive pay, healthcare reimbursement, and cell phone stipend. The position will last through March 2020 Democratic Primary, and through the November 2020 election with a victory in the Primary and runoff.
