Position: Community Organizer
Classification: Full-time, Temporary
Location: Southern Los Angeles County
Position Summary:
Method Campaign Services is looking for a Community Organizer responsible for a range of campaign objectives to build and strengthen our organizing infrastructure and engage local activists to be a powerful force in their communities around local environmental issues.
Areas of Responsibility
- Provide for the recruitment, training, leadership development and coordination of political activists;
- Develop progress reports and analysis on political capacity using various reporting functions;
- Work with activists to integrate political capacity building into the day-to-day work of grassroots organizations;
- Plan and manage multiple efforts simultaneously in a dynamic environment requiring adjustment to developing priorities and strategies;
- Use digital tools to advance on the ground organizing;
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Superior oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to develop and implement a field plan;
- Proven presentation and training skills;
- Ability to analyze complex interpersonal and inter-organizational relationships;
- Ability to travel and willing to work long hours and weekends, only when needed;
- Maintain an operational vehicle and driver’s license;
- Demonstrate an ability to contribute to creating a positive work environment that encourages personal responsibility, initiative and innovation;
- Strong sense of professionalism and integrity;
- Ability to work with diverse group of people, from local activists, professional organizers, elected officials, and other stakeholders;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite programs;
- Basic knowledge of PDI Online Campaign Tools and other political databases helpful, not required;
