Position Available – Telemarketing (Development Assistant)

Development Department

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:  The Development Department of a progressive non-profit is seeking an energetic person to fulfil our in-house telemarketing fundraising needs for the membership program. This position is a part-time position and is required to work late afternoon/early evening hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  As part of the Development Team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Fundraising via the phone for the reoccurring and renewal gifts for the members program

  • Following up with any necessary written correspondence

  • Filing detailed daily fundraising calls sheet and survey summary reports

  • Acknowledging high $ member gifts via the phone

  • Phone surveying members on issues, attitudes towards Public Citizen, etc.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong Telemarketing skills- at least two years experience.

  • Excellent communication, both oral and written.

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and frequent deadlines.

  • Level-headedness and good judgment; willingness to learn.

  • High school diploma required; some college preferred.
