California Clean Money Action Fund (Grassroots Organizer)

 

CCMAF (California Clean Money Action Fund) is an organization dedicated to the vision is achieving an open and accountable government that is responsive to the needs of all Californians.  We are a non-profit, non-partisan organization whose mission is to pursue that vision by building statewide support for public funding of election campaigns.

 

Job Description

The grassroots organizer will canvass on a daily basis in support of AB 700 the California DISCLOSE Act. They will be responsible for organizing and canvassing constituents and informing them about the benefits of AB 700. There will additionally be a fundraising facet of the position, however it is not the crux of the focus. 

 

Scope of Work

 

Responsibilities:

  • Canvass door-to-door speaking with a diverse array of individuals about AB 700
  • Tailor pitch to each individual voter based on party, age, and ancillary issues that voter may care about. 
  • Fundraising as needed  
  • Engage in at least one visibility action. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

·        Solid verbal and interpersonal communication skills are critical for this position. The more outgoing the better! 

·        Knowledgeable about the problem of money in politics and the pervasiveness of dark money

·        Some fundraising experience 

·        Ability to work on feet for multiple hours 

·        Ability to work nights and weekends
