ABOUT THE POSITION

 

Jones Mandel, a Democratic research firm, is seeking to fill research associate positions in our office in Alexandria, VA. Researchers will gain valuable experience working for political campaigns and issue-based groups. Our clients range from candidates for U.S. Senate to statewide offices such as Governor and Attorney General.

 

This work will include analyzing news reports, public records, legislative histories, legal records, business filings and other publicly-accessible information to help inform our clients’ campaign and message strategy. 

 

This is a campaign cycle position. The role will formally conclude at the end of November 2020, though there is a possibility that it may be extended at that time.

 

Qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated political instincts and interest in politics and campaigns
  • Strong writing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Commitment to helping elect Democratic candidates
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively

 

Previous campaign experience is a plus, but not required. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

 

Compensation includes health care benefits, cell phone stipend, commuting stipend, and participation in a 401(k). Our office is located in historic Old Town, a short walk from the King Street Metro Station.
