Hamilton Campaign Network (HCN) seeks community organizers for New York City based issue advocacy projects. Organizers will be self starters with prior experience in community engagement, electoral campaign field work or issue campaign field work. Responsibilities include engaging and organizing community members around specific issues effecting their communities. Organizers will be responsible for conducting person-to-person outreach to educate the community about an issue they face. In addition, they will work to identify community members to be empowered with the skills and support necessary to make sure their voices are heard during decision making processes that effect their communities. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Person-to-person community outreach 
  • Community engagement and education
  • Organizing local neighborhood groups
  • Capturing and tracking data from all community interactions
  • Preparing nightly progress reports
  • Identifying and developing community leaders

Skills and Qualifications (Required):

  • Two cycles of campaign, or issue based organizing
  • Familiarity with VAN or similar database systems
  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
These positions will be based in various locations in Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.
