Texas Democratic Party’s mission is to create a full service educational and action plan to expand opportunities for Texans to be registered to vote, educated on all aspects of voting, and have full range of protections from any form of intimidation or voter suppression in casting a ballot or full participation in all aspects of Texas government.
We seek a talented Deputy Director of Voter Protection to ensure that all eligible voters are able to cast their ballot in 2020. Our right to vote is fundamental to all that we hope to accomplish; the Deputy Director of Voter Protection is a crucial role that will help manage a robust, proactive, year-round voter protection program, ensuring free and fair elections in Texas.
As our Deputy Director of Voter Protection, you will have four main areas of responsibility:
1. Serve as a legal resource for the team and prepare for potential litigation
2. Lead the voter protection team's voter education and outreach work
3. Support the Voter Protection Director to expand access and defend against incursions to the franchise at the state, local and municipal levels
4. Support strong partnerships with county-level officials
This position will require extensive travel throughout the state, including overnight and weekend trips. As we transition toward the general election, this person’s responsibilities may shift from a statewide focus to a regional one, concentrating on a certain area of the state.
