Top target Red to Blue seat in Miami, FL seeks experienced Field Director for 2018 primary and general elections. The Field Director will work directly with the candidate and campaign manager to manage all aspects of our grassroots organizing program. Race is a top pickup opportunities for Democrats, is in a very diverse district, and the campaign will have one of the largest congressional field teams this cycle.
Responsibilities include:
Draft and implement a Field Plan with the assistance of the Campaign Manager and candidate.
Recruit, hire, train and serve as the manager for regional managers and field organizers.
Build a robust unpaid fellowship program, and ensure launch and success of program
Set, meet and exceed benchmarks for petition collection, voter contact, volunteer recruitment, grassroots engagement and GOTV
Establish a strong professional culture within the field organization focused on accountability, specific goals, innovation and sense of purpose
Manage the field program budget and logistics in collaboration with campaign management:
Building and maintaining positive relationships with supportive Democrats, progressive organizations and community leaders
Managing a multi-leveled accountability structure for with regional managers, organizers, interns and volunteer leaders
Ideal applicants should have the following qualifications:
Two to three years of previous field experience, including one implementing a robust organizing program
Experience managing paid staff
Be a team player who can create a strong culture for our organization
Ability and willingness to work long hours, and travel in and out of state when necessary
Proficiency in Votebuilder, Google Docs and Sheets/Excel
Spanish language skills
Access to a car, laptop, and cellphone
Salary is commensurate with experience
