Founded by two campaign veterans with decades of experience running and winning grassroots organizing campaigns, 50+1 Strategies is looking for top talent to build on a successful track record that includes victories for Senator Cory Booker, Planned Parenthood, and the Golden State Warriors. We aim to build campaigns that reflect the communities around them, empower and strengthen volunteer leadership, and engage people in a meaningful way.

This fellowship is designed to test, train, and develop the next generation of community organizers, campaign staffers, and change-makers. Fellows will have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of political campaigns including, but not limited to, field organizing; digital strategy; graphic design; messaging and communications; fundraising; and overall campaign strategy. Interns will leave with a full understanding of the tools, tactics, and language that organizers use to make change in their communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft and implement voter and volunteer engagement plans
  • Draft messaging content, social media posts, ad copy, talking points, memos, and more
  • Coordinate campaign and community events
  • Gain real-world experience
  • Aid in demographic and voter contact research
  • Make a difference on the issues that you care about

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiastic about grassroots organizing and local politics
  • Willing to work long and irregular hours at times, potentially including weekends
  • Interested in people-centered, metrics-driven work
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Personally organized and hard-working
  • Effective and strong communicators
  • Committed to collaboration and teamwork
  • Flexible and self-motivated
  • Willing to commit to 10-20 hours a week
  • All majors are encouraged to apply

This is an unpaid fellowship. Fellows are expected to complete a minimum of 10 hours per week. The program will be dedicated to project-based work and skills training, as well as hands-on work in the community.
