ABOUT THE FINANCE DIRECTOR ROLE

A competitive progressive candidate for New York State legislature in New York City is recruiting a full time Finance Director as soon as possible. Finance Director is responsible for achieving fundraising goals, organizing finance events, coordinating activities with and managing the Finance Committee, and communicating with prospects and donors to build a sustainable fundraising operation. The Finance Director will report to the Campaign Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and execute fundraising strategy

Prospect potential donors, schedule and staff donor meetings, and ensure follow-up

Write fundraising communications, such as emails to the campaign supporter list and letters to individual donors

Plan and execute big dollar and grassroots fundraising events

Lead donor communications, conducting donor research

Manage the database of donors and prospects

EXPERIENCE

Candidates should have at least 1-2 cycles of campaign fundraising experience. Other political and campaign experience is a plus.

Candidates should have outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Candidates are entrepreneurial and take initiative

COMPENSATION

Compensation for this position is commensurate with experience.
